'Round about eight, maybe nine years ago I received a gift twelve pack of "beers of the world." Included in the box was a sheet to rate the various beers on a scale of -11 to 19 based on criteria such as head, color, smell, taste, and aftertaste. Since then I have used this system to evaluate over 374 beers (from twenty-six different countries and twenty-three US states), whose ratings appear here. It's a dirty job but someone had to do it. These ratings are typically conducted in my basement bar and thus usually are somewhat dependent on my being to find the beer locally. On occasion, I have rated beers on the road and recorded them here. However, it isn't always easy to do and it looks a bit wonkish to pull out a spreadsheet and rate a beer while sitting at a bar. Just because you don't find a beer here, doesn't mean I haven't tried it. I am always open to suggestions and always on the lookout for new beers to try. Cheers! |
